So You Think Sponsored Research Policies and Procedures Are Not For
You .... Well Then You’d Better Read This

This short yet concise pamphlet is intended for faculty, researchers, staff, and post docs/doctoral
candidates and is aimed at assisting the organization with achieving two important goals.

The first addresses the inherent attitude among this group that policies and procedures are
designed by, and for, bureaucrats, and therefore, they do not bother to read or adhere to them.  
This is the root problem that leads individuals and organizations into trouble with federally funded
programs.  By telling the story of how such an attitude was the major culprit in leading to the demise
of a world class research program, individuals, and university, the readers will see first hand that
these policies and procedures are there for a good reason and need to be well understood and
adhered to.  Considering the resulting profound personal and financial price from this example will
no doubt lead them to reevaluate their misguided attitudes.
